FileManager
Requirements and Running:
1. A copy of FILE.SRT must be in the current directory.
2. Insert should be ON for some of the macros.
3. Txtfiles must have extension "QM".
4. Macfiles must have extension "MAC".
5. Directory Extended DX.EXE, and FILE-DX.BAT must be located in your path.
Directory Extended is available on many BBS's. On CompuServe it can be found
in the file DX-260.ZIP and documentation in DX-D20.ZIP in IBMSYS. On Exec-PC
the file is DX211.ZIP.
File sorting is done using DX Directory Extender, v2.11. Files may be loaded
for editing, macfiles read, or files may be deleted. Files may be loaded from
a picklist with @4.
If the newer version 2.60 is used and it is NOT registered, the DX heading
will show in the file selection window of @1 to @5 and the initial cursor
line will not be positioned on the first file in the selection list. The file
selection can be still be made by moving the cursor line to the desired file
and pressing <enter>. Alternatively, you can either register DX or change the
macros. I suggest registration. DX is the most powerful DOS file and
directory manager available.
6. Substitute C: with your ram disk for faster operation.
7. A macfile can then be made using QMAC with the following command:
QMAC FILExx.mac FILExx.qm /B /A-
xx = latest version number
8. This converted macfile may then be read with the following commands:
<Esc>
M
R
FILExx.mac
<Enter>
